A Legacy of Protection: The Introduction and Transition Habitat

When Faith arrived at Shy Wolf Sanctuary, she was giving birth in a kill shelter. When Amerika and Legion needed a home after their sanctuary was forced to close, we said yes.

But the ability to say yes is not guaranteed. It is built.

Today, Shy Wolf Sanctuary cares for 28 wolves and wolfdogs in Southwest Florida, one of the highest-need regions in the country for these animals. Every day, we receive calls from people who have nowhere else to turn. Every day, the animals in our care depend on us to be ready.

And right now, we need your help to stay ready.

What We Are Building

We are creating a dedicated introduction and transition habitat, a critical new space that will transform how we receive and integrate new animals at Shy Wolf Sanctuary.

This habitat will allow us to:

• Safely welcome newly arrived wolves and wolfdogs into the sanctuary
• Provide neutral common ground for introductions
• Supervise carefully managed interactions to determine the best long-term placement
• Expand our ability to respond when animals need us most

This is not just a construction project. It is the infrastructure that makes every future rescue possible.

Why It Matters Now

When Seacrest Wolf Preserve was forced to close, Amerika and Legion needed a home immediately. We said yes. Amerika arrived needing emergency surgery to remove a bladder stone. We said yes to that too.

But saying yes takes more than heart. It takes space, preparation, and the right facilities to do it safely and well.

This habitat ensures that the next time a sanctuary closes, the next time a family can no longer care for their wolfdog, the next time an animal needs us, we are ready.

Our Goal

We are raising $100,000 to build this habitat. Every dollar goes directly toward construction, materials, and fencing to bring this vision to life.
