Meet Banana.🍌

Banana was first spotted at the end of April in far southwest Austin, near Dripping Springs.

Neighbors state that someone had just moved out and it appeared she was abandoned there. She stayed for several days and eluded all attempts to rescue her.

Then she disappeared.

One of the children who had been keeping eyes on her affectionately dubbed her Banana Slipper. Why? Because she's "slippery like a banana and goes missing like you're favorite slipper."

Her presence had started to make itself known throughout all of the neighborhood groups online. We think this may be why she disappeared again… that someone came to get her before too much attention was drawn to them for dumping her.

Nearly a month later and 22 miles away, the slippery Banana reappeared! Far east now in Easton Park. neighbors report a strange vehicle in the area and then her suddenly appearing.😢

She was afraid of everyone and ran in and out of busy highways. She didn’t allow us to handcapture her and she refused to enter the trap. 😭

Finally, after several more days and several different attempts, our team was able to capture her!

She’s limping badly, covered in flea and needs medical attention.

She will be seeing our vet this week for a full exam, X-rays and whatever they deem necessary.
