Located in the historic Fillmore/Western Addition neighborhood, the African American Art & Culture Complex is one of the premier Black arts and cultural institutions in the San Francisco/Bay Area. We are one of seven cultural centers in the San Francisco Arts Commission’s Neighborhood Arts Program.

AAACC’s mission is to be a space where Black creatives can present, gather, and learn—and for others to experience Black joy through the arts. Our work centers the cultural identity, visibility, and celebration of Black San Francisco, boldly taking up space in a city where Black voices have long been marginalized.

Through community-rooted exhibitions, public activations, cultural storytelling, and direct support to artists, creatives and the broader Fillmore/Western Addition community, we create opportunities where Black joy, healing, and culture can thrive.
