There's nothing like the magic of live dance paired with live music! At AABP’s last concert, our collaboration with ajaeng musician Yoona Kim electrified the audience, and we’re excited to build on that momentum. For our upcoming concert, we’re hiring both live musicians and original composers to collaborate with us on 3 new ballets.

Music is the heartbeat of dance. Its rhythm shapes movement, its emotion sets the tone, and its live energy elevates the experience. By collaborating with talented musicians and composers, we’ll craft performances that push the boundaries of Asian American storytelling through dance. AAPI choreographers will create pieces inspired by the work of Asian American composers, and we’ll see dancers and musicians working side by side in real time.

As the first-ever Asian American ballet company, AABP is known for creating ballets that speak to the Asian American experience. This is an opportunity to increase Asian American artistic collaboration to better tell stories that are unique to our community. This concert will not only showcase incredible art but also elevate Asian American voices in the arts. Join us in supporting new works, AAPI artists, and the power of live performance!

What the Money Goes Toward:

Composer/Musician Compensation – $1500
Artistic Administration – $600
Space Rental (sound checks/music rehearsals) – $550
Piano Tuning – $350

While we may face occasional scheduling conflicts or production delays, we have a strong track record of delivering projects on time and creating unforgettable performances. Thank you for supporting us!

Founded in 2022, the Asian American Ballet Project is the very first Asian American ballet company, ever. Our mission is to present Asian American dancers on stage together in all-Asian American productions. We aim to tell stories from our unique perspectives and transform how audiences see Asian Americans in performance, from unexpected to accepted. With a commitment to both classical and contemporary ballet, AABP commissions works from AAPI choreographers, both local and international.
