Imagine the excitement on the children's faces when they walk into a beautiful classroom and a safe space to create.
Anointed Grace Redeemer Prep is an exceptional school in Elmina, Ghana, with a compelling mission to nurture and inspire the creative spirit of its middle school students.
When we visited the school, we couldn't help but notice dilapidated, unfinished structures, hazardous safety conditions, and partially built classrooms. Yet the children were excited about learning, captivated by the books that we donated, and eager to share their love of performance and fashion.
At that moment, I felt led to offer to finish a classroom. I also want to honor my sister, Wanda. We are spreading the beautiful, loving spirit of Wanda Simmons, the co-founder of the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival (ABTF), into a legacy.
"Wanda's Creative Corner" will be a safe space for children to create beauty, however they feel inspired.
In 2022, two months before we were scheduled to visit Ghana, Wanda was diagnosed with cancer and could not join the pilgrimage. We are happy to report she beat cancer, and the legacy of ABTF continues--beyond borders.
Join us on this magnificent journey to give. Whether you want to sponsor a child with a scholarship or just donate to rebuilding a safe space for the school. We are all blessed to be a blessing to others.
Thank you!
