CAC AmeriCorps, a program of the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee, is an AmeriCorps National Service program that has been in continuous operation since the fall of 1994 and is one of the longest running, continuously funded, programs in the State of Tennessee with nearly 700 alums having completed nearly 1.2 million hours of service.

CAC AmeriCorps will be making a bold investment in 2021 to establish the Knoxville chapter of AmeriCorps Alums to serve CAC AmeriCorps alums AND any AmeriCorps alum residing in or near Knox and surrounding counties in East Tennessee. As an AmeriCorps intermediary, we are taking action to expand the functional definition of membership and what it means to be an AmeriCorps member and alum by maintaining engagement with the region's alums in providing mentorship opportunities to current members, engaging members and alums in shared service, and providing opportunities for alums to fund member and alum innovation in our community while reconnecting and reflecting on their service and their experiences "..this year and beyond."

We believe this initiative will strengthen the experience of serving as a member and maintaining that commitment as an alum.

In this spirit, we are running a campaign to encourage members, alums, and supporters of national service with whom this vision resonates to make an investment in something that we believe can become a model for member and alum engagement in the national service community. Contributions of any amount are valued and contribution IS NOT required to participate in AmeriCorps Alum: Knoxville.

All funds raised by this campaign, after platform fees, will be disbursed to CAC AmeriCorps, a program of the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee, and dedicated to the support of Alum Initiatives in our region. In addition to these donations, CAC AmeriCorps has a plan to leverage a variety of grant funding and local support to create an Alums movement in East Tennessee that is flexible, rewarding, and sustainable.

Recognition Options

All donors who contribute $10, or greater, in a calendar year will be listed on ACAlumsKnox.Org as supporters for the calendar year.

Donors who contribute at the $100, $250, or $500 giving level will have the opportunity to have their support attributed to a specific member/alum small grant project.

Donors who contribute at the $1,000 giving level, or greater, will have the opportunity to be noted as a Program-Level sponsor of AmeriCorps Alums: Knoxville.
