About AZ State Representative Justin Heap: A sixth-generation Arizonan, Representative, Justin Heap is a dedicated public servant with a strong commitment to serving the people of Maricopa County. With a diverse background in law and public service, Justin states he brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the role of County Recorder.

Justin earned his Bachelor's Degree in History from Arizona State University then went on to pursue a Law Degree from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, where he honed his skills as a legal advocate. As a former prosecutor and civil attorney, Justin has a deep understanding of the law and a proven track record as a champion of individual liberty and constitutional principles.

In 2022, Justin was elected to the Arizona State House, representing District 10. In his time in the legislature, he has distinguished himself as a principled leader and a fierce advocate for limited government and conservative principles. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Ways & Means Committee and the House Municipal Oversight Committee, where he has worked to promote transparency and accountability in all aspects of the election process.

He will work to ensure fair and accessible elections, protect the integrity of the voting process, promote greater transparency, and restore dignity to a Recorder’s office which has lost the trust of the public. Justin is committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and accountability in the County Recorder's office.

About Maricopa County Sheriff Candidate Mike Crawford: Mike Crawford is a God-fearing Patriot and a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. From New Mexico to England to Arizona, Mike has had a dedicated life of service and he is not done! As a firefighter, United States Air Force Veteran, and law enforcement officer, Mike is focused on serving and protecting you and your family.

On July 10, 1991, Mike's military career changed in a blink of an eye when he was struck by lightning. This is the day that God changed Mike's path and focused him on serving in law enforcement. Mike returned to New Mexico to join the San Juan County Sheriff's Office. He honorably served as a Sheriff's Deputy in the following roles and divisions: Patrol Deputy, Special Agent in the Drug Enforcement Administration, Region II Narcotics Taskforce, and Extradition Fugitive Deputy. In 1997, Mike was hired on with the Glendale Police Department where he honorably served in the following roles and divisions: Police Officer in the Patrol, Special Operations and Vehicular Crimes, Motorcycle Officer in the Traffic Division, Police Instructor, Field Training Officer, and Motor Instructor. Mike retired in 2021 but he is not done and is looking forward to serving you as the Sheriff of Maricopa County.

Priorities:

1. Audit the books on Day 1 for full budget transparency.
2. Recruit 20% more Sheriff Deputies.
3. Bring back the MCSO Volunteer Posse.
4. Stop the Frivolous Lawsuits.
5. Build Community Trust by having our Sheriff Deputies truly part of our community.
