❤ At Fun & Friends, our mission is to provide inclusive, accessible, and FUN events for the entire disability community. Our organization differentiates itself by allowing families to self-identify disabilities, using "disability" as an open and flexible term. This ensures that children with a wide range of needs can participate without strict criteria, which reflects our belief that every child deserves opportunities for recreation, social connection, and skill development. Right now, we need your help to bridge the gap of reaching families who have young children with physical disabilities in the Sioux Falls area.

🧡 Funds from this campaign will be used to purchase adaptive tricycles that will allow children with physical disabilities to fully participate in our Special Olympics Young Athletes session, for use in our monthly open gyms, and as part of a check-out system to build skills in a home setting, ensuring continued access and opportunity beyond scheduled events. Being able to loan out these adaptive trikes for home use is a huge driving factor in acquiring them, as they are beyond the means for most families to acquire individually.

💛 Our goal this year is to purchase 4 adaptive trikes with lower supports and 2 adaptive trikes with full supports. The prices range from $1,600-$5,000 for AmTryke and Freedom Concept adaptive trikes. In doing so, we will expand the number of children who can safely and confidently participate in our activities, with equipment purchased and available for use in time for the upcoming Special Olympics Young Athletes session beginning July 7, 2026.

💚 Our organization is run solely and enthusiastically by dedicated and passionate parent volunteers who receive no compensation. We are all parents to children with lifelong disabilities who are committed to creating the community we want to see for our children and their futures right now. All of the funds we receive go straight to designing and executing programming driven by the direct input of our community at no cost to local families.
