Bushwick Ayuda Mutua (BAM) is a 100% volunteer-run and community-funded network of neighbors supporting neighbors. We serve thousands of community members in Bushwick through bi-weekly distributions of food, essential goods, clothing, and social services.

As the summer growing season begins, BAM is looking forward to supporting our partners working in local agriculture, and to provide our neighbors with fresh, healthy produce grown on ethically-aligned farms such as Star Route Farm.

To do this, we’re planning a week of digital fundraising, which will culminate in a party in the back room at the Three Diamond Door on Sunday, June 18th, from 4-8pm. We’ll also be holding a raffle of donated items from local businesses, including:

BAM relies on consistent recurring monthly donors to support our organization. We spend roughly $15,000 per month on food and essential goods, but we typically only raise $10,000 each month. Basic necessities are a human right, and we aim to ensure that residents of our community have their basic needs met, as well as access to resources and information to thrive during the pandemic and beyond. Bushwick Ayuda Mutua serves as a way for individuals to fight systems that seek to divide, and is a deliberate and intentional community that prioritizes the marginalized.
