Every year on Giving Tuesday, our community comes together to do something extraordinary — to give a child with disabilities the support, resources, or opportunities that insurance won’t cover but life absolutely requires.

This year, we are honored to introduce you to Evan, a bright, joyful, and determined 5-year-old whose journey has been marked by courage, resilience, and so much love.

Born at just 3 pounds 10 ounces, Evan spent 4.5 weeks in the NICU and faced challenges from the very beginning. Feeding, moving, speaking — each milestone required therapy, time, and incredible perseverance. At two years old, he was diagnosed with a rare genetic deletion found in only about 500 children worldwide. He also lives with eosinophilic esophagitis and alopecia universalis.

But Evan’s spirit is unstoppable.

Through early intervention and years of hard work, Evan began walking at 3.5 years old. Today, he’s speaking in full sentences, exploring the world with curiosity, and sharing his goofy, room-lighting smile everywhere he goes. He loves being outside, playing with friends, and snuggling with his puppy.

This year, Evan entered kindergarten — and his parents, Cheryl and Jamie, found a private special-needs school perfectly suited to support his continued development. After the loss of their daughter a couple of years ago and the adoption of their younger son Levi a year later, the cost of specialized education is a heavy burden during a chapter already filled with both grief and joy.

This Giving Tuesday, we want to give Evan the gift of possibility — by helping cover part of his school tuition so he can continue learning, growing, and thriving in the environment he deserves.
