As Salamu Alaikum, my name is Isa Yasin and I am a 10th grader at Averroes, a Muslim high school in Fremont, Ca. This year every student is asked to raise $2500, and so today I am asking if you could donate to help me reach my goal.
ABOUT ME
One thing I want you to know about me is that I am always striving to get better, whether in academics, sports or in my character. Averroes helps me to develop all 3 of these.
Being at an Islamic school provides a sense of community by having teachers who not only help me with my academic skills, but also in my development in becoming a righteous muslim youth. A few of my favorite activities at Averoes are Biology,Theology and Algebra. Im also learning Arabic and Im memorizing some Quran. And this year, our JV Basketball team went 12-3 and our Varsity team made it to the playoffs.
SINCE LAST YEAR
Since last year, I have improved my planning and scheduling ability; checking my schedule and planner more often in order to have a productive day. Since it takes me 1 ½ hours to travel to and from school, learning how to plan my day so that I can manage my class, sports, extracurricular and home responsibilites is crucial.
But my favorite memory of the school year so far has been our annual camping trip. I was able to bond with classmates and teachers beyond the classroom and I enjoyed being in nature and seeing Allah's creation at Yosemite National Park.
