Every school year, Addis Jemari's Teen Board provides book bags and school shoes for more than 100 students they serve in our two programs, AJ Home for once orphaned and vulnerable teenage girls and the Family Empowerment Program, where we work with more than 90 school-aged students.
This spring, Addis Jemari's Teen Board and AJ Ambassadors here in Raleigh, NC will raise funds to provide school necessities for the upcoming school year for these students in Ethiopia. Every student we serve in Ethiopia will receive a book bag, filled with essential school supplies and new shoes. These items are crucial and allow students to focus on completing their schoolwork. They don’t have to worry about lacking anything they need for a successful school year.
Much-needed supplies enhances their academic performance. Having what they need helps provide the confidence they need to succeed in school. It also reduces discouragement, absenteeism, and withdrawal.
Our AJ Teen Board and AJ Ambassadors Programis made up of 37 local high school students from twelve different high schools in Wake County. Their goal is to raise $8,000 to ensure students in Ethiopia have all their school supply needs met. They are doing this through a myriad of ways including a Spirit Night at Two Roosters Ice Cream, a shoe drive where they get money for recycling gently used and older shoes, and also an event called Barbecue and Baskets in April, and thorugh this online campaign.
All donations are tax-deductible!
Will you help us support a future where all children can thrive in school?
Sincerely,
The Addis Jemari Teen Board and AJ Ambassadors
