A Letter on the Manor is a short film independently produced by two female student filmmakers. We have been organizing the production of this passion project for years, since the idea's conception during the Covid Pandemic. Only half historically inaccurate, A Letter on the Manor follows two peasant farmers through the plague ridden country as they exchange letters via postboy, a practice which may or may not have existed. The first one reads:

Dear Robert,

My life-expectancy has become disturbingly low as I have recently come down with the plague. It would be much appreciated if you, as my oldest friend, were to harvest my land so that my lovely wife and daughters should not starve, broke from the Lord’s taxes. You know how my dear was never able to produce me a son. I will even leave you my horse collar and saddle when I pass, stirrups included.

To which his dear friend Robert responds: no. And such their life threatening saga unfolds. Pun intended.

$1300 - actor/crew compensation

$500 - props and costumes

$500 - craft services (4 day shoot)

$200 - background talent compensation

Every Donor/Contributor will be mentioned in the end credits - "With special thanks to...". Donations of $150-$299 will be credited as associate producers, and donations of $300 as executive producers.
