Here's some information about our philanthropy, Kiva, and our fundraising goals!
Lifting one lifts many.
Kiva is an international nonprofit with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. By lending as little as $25 you can help people around the world create opportunities for themselves, their families and their communities, whether it’s to start or grow a business, go to school, access clean energy or realize their potential.
Dreams are universal, opportunity is not.
The poor are typically excluded by financial service providers because they have no collateral, no credit history, and lack financial education and advising. Kiva gives you the chance to make small loans to borrowers working to start businesses and improve their lives
“Kiva is a simple concept that can change a person’s life.” – Oprah Winfrey
As the philanthropy of the Beta Upsilon chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, we are dedicated to developing business leaders, no matter where they start from. Through Kiva, we are able to lend to those with similar dreams and aspirations on a global scale.
100% of every dollar lent on Kiva goes to funding loans.
We plan to use a portion of the money raised to donate to Kiva directly so that they can continue operating and expanding.
Our goal is to create a fund that is continuously growing and being reinvested into Kiva loans. The more money we can raise, the more people we can reach and the bigger the impact we can make.
