My name is Jessica Mayfield-Ashwood,LMSW, a clinical social worker turned author who is in the midst of pubslhing her first book! I plan to self-publish a series of children books about mental health through my newly formed publishing company, Take Flight Publishing LLC.

The first book in the series is called, Amethyst Has a Worry, where the main character explores anxiety and learns fun and helpful skills to cope with it. The book highlights and defines terms in a simple way, showcases symptoms of anxiety in kids, and provides an opportunity to practice several calm down skills. It also offers prompts throughout the book to encourage expression and keep engagement. The targeted audience is for children ages 5-12 and clinicians, teachers, and parents who are seeking SEL resources.

Jessica has seen the importance of teaching children early on about how to express themselves and also how impactful it is that adults know the appropriate language and skills to help children who have mental health conditions. She along with beta readers believe that this book will help a ton of children and families thrive!

I need your help to produce the physical copies of this book. It is completely written, edited, illustrated, designed, and formatted. Nearly ready to hit the print button! Unfortunately, the cost of producing bulk copies of a book is a tall order for a self publishing author. Below is a breakdown of remaining production costs:
