Children facing cancer, blood diseases, or other life-threatening conditions often miss out on experiences that many others take for granted. Due to their illnesses and treatments, these children are frequently immunosuppressed or medically fragile, making them particularly vulnerable in school, extracurricular activities, and events with peers. Some may go years without interacting with others, which can hinder their social and emotional development. Siblings of both survivors and those who have passed away also seek connections with friends who understand their complex feelings, yearning for a week free from the stress surrounding a seriously ill child.
The mission of the Camp Hope program is to provide these children with a week free from treatment-related stress, to create a supportive community of peers who share similar challenges, and to offer resources that can help them cope with their illness and recovery.
Camp Hope is a free, medically safe and supported camp for kids ages 5-17 who are currently battling or who have survived their disease. We encourage one sibling to attend with the patient. Our camp is held June 29- July 4, 2025, at East Bay Camp on Lake Bloomington, IL.
