I've been on several education-related mission trips to Uganda over the years, and I also enjoy road biking. This will be my first year to do this ride, and it seems like a great way to simultaneously (1) give others a way to participate via a donation (2) multiply the effectiveness of our involvement in this mission, and (3) enjoy a challenging ride with like-minded bikers.
