Food prepared and served by:

Chef Collin Leaver

As HoFoCo's Head Chef, Collin works to ensure that HoFoCo meets its standards to provide healthy and nutritious meals for food-insecure, unhoused, and low-income persons. Before joining HoFoCo, Collin worked as a Chef de Cuisine for a hotel in San Diego and as a Corporate Chef for a restaurant group in Los Angeles. Before moving to L.A., Collin spent most of his culinary career in San Francisco starting from a line cook to a Chef de Cuisine for several award-winning and Michelin-starred restaurants. Collin was born in Los Angeles, grew up in San Diego, and attended college in New York.

Chef Louise Leonard

Louise Leonard is a chef, Local 44 food stylist, and gardener at the East Hollywood Community Garden who specializes in seasonal, vegetable-forward cooking. She has been cooking professionally for 20 years, beginning her journey studying at the former French Culinary Institute under the tutelage of such greats as Jacques Pépin, Andre Soltner, Alain Sailhac, and Jacques Torres. After many years in New York working in the early craft beer and slow food movement, Louise moved to Los Angeles and switched gears to pursue food through visual media. When she is not food styling for TV and film, she's gardening and exploring the myriad of delicious communities throughout greater Los Angeles.

Our hosts:

ABOUT HOLLYWOOD FOOD COALITION

Hollywood Food Coalition is an organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity, eliminating food waste and helping our guests connect to essential services by building trust and community. Since 1987 we have provided hunger relief to unhoused and low-income neighbors through hot, healthy meals served every single night of the year, without fail. Since then, we have grown into a thriving meal service and food rescue operation providing meals and other basic necessities to food-insecure Angelenos, according to HoFoCo’s ethos of Responsiveness, Consistency, Choice and Community.

We help more unhoused community members on a daily basis than any other social service agency in the neighborhood.

When we share food we not only help with basic needs, but we also remind our guests of their fundamental humanity. We remind them that they are not forgotten, that somebody cares, and that they are still worthwhile members of the human family.

At our core, we actively seek to construct a more cohesive, just, and compassionate community. We serve any hungry person who walks through our door, with no exclusionary intake or prohibitive requirements that would turn them away.
