Here's a fun project over the holidays where you can connect with friends, show your talent and help folks in need, all at once.

This Giving Tuesday, we're kicking off our first Holiday Open Mic contest. Simply join our online fundraising campaign by clicking the "Fundraise" button to make your own page, upload a video of you nailing your favorite holiday song, and share that personal page on social media with an ask to help the Community Shelter.

Or, even easier, click the Donate button and give until it feels great!

Whoever raises the most from their personal page gets a $50 gift certificate to Chick-fil-a, perfect for a break from all those holiday errands.

The Community Shelter of Union County is the county's only full-time shelter for single men, women and families. From July 2020 through June 2021, the Community Shelter

-- Served more than 52,221 prepared meals in our dining hall
-- Served more than 370,462 prepared meals through our mobile pantry service
-- Provided 23,188 overnight emergency shelter stays to 483 individuals
-- Moved 112 homeless households back to their own housing
-- Provided 262 households with approximately $876,193 in rental assistance to prevent eviction
-- In total, Union County residents received 615,794 units of service.
