This year we have awarded more scholarships than ever before, with more community members participating at sliding scale, and more youth taking classes, as well as improvements to our facilities and equipment, our largest cohort of resident artists yet, and new directions in our programming, like free circles and social hours.

We are providing a space where community members are not at work, not at home, but interacting with other people and perspectives, making new friends, and working together on creative projects. We enjoy receiving feedback from students who loved not only their class or instructor, but their classmates as well! Friendships spring up around Open Shop and Open Ceramics Studio, Open Mic Night, the Olympia Woodworkers Guild, the Oly Old Time Festival, and so many other programs at Arbutus Folk School.
