The Argonaut II Historic Boat Foundation is dedicated to preserving and sharing the living story of Argonaut II, a storied wooden vessel with a rich living history that continues to sail the Pacific Northwest. Built in 1922, Argonaut II has a rich history serving the remote coastal communities of British Columbia, where she served as an essential link between isolated villages, lighthouses, logging and canning operations, and First Nation communities. Today, the Foundation carries that story forward through a combination of hands-on public engagement and global digital storytelling. Each year, more than 3,000 people step aboard Argonaut II through dockside visits, museum partnerships, and maritime events—experiencing firsthand what it is like to step aboard a vessel maintained in near-original condition. Beyond the dock, the Foundation documents the boat’s restoration and travels through an online video series that has reached a global audience of more than 1.5 million viewers. By sharing the process of maintaining and sailing a historic vessel in real time, the Foundation preserves traditional maritime knowledge while inviting audiences around the world to take part in the story.
