Story
As part of the 2021 Arts in the Garden at Inland Bays Garden Center, local artist John Donato began work on a participatory mural on the Garden Center's freshly painted workshop. The mural will be filled with native plants, pollinators, birds, and sea life found in Southern Delaware. Members of the community were encouraged to participate by donating any amount to the Center for the Inland Bays and grabbing a paintbrush.
Work on the mural continues in 2022 with frequent “Pop Up Painting opportunities”. John and Inland Bays Garden Center will be inviting folks to help finish it up while hoping to raise $2,022 for the local nonprofit by October 9 to coincide with Arts in the Garden 2022. Donate here if you'd like to support their efforts!
The Delaware Center for the Inland Bays is a nonprofit organization established in 1994, and is one of 28 National Estuary Programs. With its many partners, the Center works to preserve, protect and restore Delaware’s Inland Bays and their watershed.
