In honor of Against the Grain's 10 year anniversary, you can help us feed ten Watauga families this season...

Watauga County is 98th among 100 NC counties for residents who live below the poverty line, with more than 1 out of 4 residents struggling to meet high rents, fuel costs, and basic needs. Poverty and food scarcity hits growing children especially hard, with 78% of students in Watauga County qualifying for free & reduced school lunch. This means that many children may only have one full meal a day, and less in the summer.

This season, in honor of Against the Grain's 10th anniversary, the farm plans to raise produce for 10 additional families through their 24 week CSA season (June through mid-November). Can you support planting, growing, harvesting, and delivering produce weekly to these families? With a donation of $30, $60, $100, or more, you will contribute to a supply healthy, organic food for 10 High Country Families.

Against the Grain https://www.atgfarm.com/ is a small family farm located in Zionville, NC, in western Watauga County. They grow a spectrum of certified organic and biodynamic vegetables and pasture-raised meats, with a mission to nourish both body and spirit. In addition to selling at the Watauga County Farmer’s Market and the High Country Food Hub, ATG's Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA) offers a way to secure a share in the farm’s bounty, receiving weekly baskets of food throughout the six strongest growing months of the year. Since 2017, Against the Grain has provided reduced and no-cost CSA shares to food-insecure families in Zionville and Boone. In the past three years, as more families express need and interest, Against the Grain has been able to offer more CSA shares for more weeks out of the year to families in need of healthy food, which supports both the farm and the community it serves.
