Austin Take A Chance Organization is a grassroots nonprofit based in Austin, Texas, dedicated to serving LGBTQIA+ individuals who are experiencing displacement or hardship. We believe that everyone deserves access to the essentials — food, clothing, safety, and dignity — as well as the opportunity to rebuild their lives.

Our work is simple but powerful: we meet people where they are. Whether that means providing survival packs, sharing warm meals, offering vital resources, or just showing up to listen, ATACO is committed to restoring dignity and sparking hope.

Every connection matters. Every conversation counts. Every act of care is a chance to help someone move from survival toward stability, healing, and self-worth.

Our vision also extends into empowerment: through future programs like Bridges & Anchors, we aim to provide skill-building and job readiness opportunities to help individuals reenter society with confidence and purpose.

Together, we’re building second chances — one step, one meal, one moment at a time.
