The team at Avid Coffee saw what Free Dog Trainers was doing and immediately asked, "How can we help?"

We decided to throw a pop-up event at their Santa Rosa store located in the Montgomery Village shopping center offering the AKC's Canine Good Citizen test!

During this event we'll be doing more than just Canine Good Citizen testing. We'll also be available to help coach and troubleshoot if there's a specific area of the test you have questions about, we'll be answering questions about all things dog-related, and talking about our upcoming plans for innovative programming in Sonoma County (and beyond.)

Why do you do this for free?

Shelters and rescues are full of dogs who could have used support before they ended up in the shelter. Unfortunately due to the high costs of running a dog training business, support from trainers is out of reach to many people. Our nonprofit is here to change the model for how people get access to basic support for their dogs. Our goal is happy and successful pets and people in our communities.

What do you do with the money you raise?

We are a nonprofit organization that wants to revolutionize how we support people and dogs in our communities through Free Dog Trainers. Our mission is simple and specific: Provide access to education and support from skilled dog professionals to members of the public. This includes one-on-one dog training, group classes, webinars, seminars, etc.

In our first 6 months, our nonprofit served around 200 people and their dogs. Our goal is to reach over 1,000 people by the end of our first full year of operations in 2025.
