Awake is unique in the realm of Catholic-based support for survivors and their loved ones. I simply have found no other organization which is as thoughtful, discerning, survivor centered and grassroots - and which actually walks the talk of meeting needs from a compassionate but rigorously learning-centered approach, continually. (Every activity has an evaluation component and feedback is incorporated into the next program option.)

I have been involved in a survivor circle for 2+ years where I've been able to be vulnerable and honest, have appreciated the Courageous Conversations about real issues we survivors wrestle with, have attended the in-person retreat and was surprised how profound it was, and have assisted with a Bridge dialogue with 3 priests, to work at the ground level of transformation.

Finally, I can feel the presence of the hand of the divine in how I am treated and how decisions are made: prayerfully, by consensus, and with humility and grace. Awake is a gift to all North American Catholics which I lend my gifts to - of time, treasure and talent. Thank you to the almost 100 volunteers for this vision and vitally important mission. May the next 5 years be equally Spirit guided.
