SUNSHINE SPECIALTY HEALTH OUTREACH FOUNDATION's Story

SSHOF aims to address a significant need within the community by developing a comprehensive program focused on nutritional education for women living with HIV. The organization has identified a gap in culturally sensitive nutritional education for this demographic and plans to create a twelve-session program to address it. The primary goals are to improve health outcomes and support overall well-being through better nutrition. Program Outline 1. Target Audience: - Women living with HIV, aged 18 to 65. 2. Sessions: - Licensed Nutritionist: - Conducts 2 educational workshops on the benefits of eating healthy. - Certified Chef: - Conducts 5 hands-on sessions on making healthy meal plans for themselves and their families, covering breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and plant based meals. - Life Coach: - Conducts 2 sessions on healthy juicing, including practical demonstrations. - Graduation Session: - A final session to celebrate completion and reinforce learned skills. 3. Additional Goals: - Address prevention and PrEP/nPEP education. - Provide information on safe sex practices and the importance of disclosing HIV status to partners. - Educate on reducing the risk of HIV transmission and accessing testing locations and prevention measures. By focusing on these areas, SSHOF aims to empower women living with HIV to improve their nutritional habits, enhance their overall health, and reduce the risks associated with HIV and related illnesses.
