Story

The Atlanta Youth Energy Corps was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from Projects for Peace to hire a student leader who will administer a variety of residential energy efficiency upgrades in Dekalb County. Your donation will support the Community Engagement Coordinator (student leader) implement a variety of goals throughout summer 2020:

  • Organize several energy efficiency upgrades for residents with energy burdens
  • Develop energy equity educational workshops to be held at community centers throughout Dekalb
  • Collaborate with local nonprofits and partners to administer retrofits and energy equity workshops
  • Canvas and engage with new residents who may benefit from energy upgrades

Supporting this student not only ensures that this job opportunity is accessible to more individuals unable to afford an unpaid internship / position, but supports the growing movement for a green jobs economy. When you support fair wages in green jobs, you support the youth and our future.
