Love the Dove

Dove Fund aims to prevent eviction for vulnerable Lowcountry families. We assist working families who need help overcoming a temporary setback. If these families lose their apartments, they will experience the trauma of homelessness, lose their personal belongings and furnishings, and be exposed to weather, disease, and street violence. Often it takes several years before new housing opportunities open up, and the kids are shuffled from school district to school district. So much time and momentum is lost. If we can save a family from eviction, we are also helping the overall community. In general, there is a $4-to-$1 social return on investment for preventing eviction. The cost can be much higher when people end up in a cycle of ER visits due to the harshness of life on the streets.
