This is a photo by John Maxon from the Montclair Ambulance Unit archives featuring early members Bertil Bresky and Phil VanCourt driving one of Montclair's first ambulances. In 1953 the ambulances looked different, but the mission – to provide reliable, professional ambulance service to the people of Montclair – remains the same. Since then, our call volume has increased nearly tenfold. We responded to 3,769 emergency 911 ambulance calls last year.

The Montclair Ambulance Unit was founded as an independent agency that, unlike the fire and police departments, does not receive operational funding from the township or tax dollars. Today we remain a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that relies on your tax-deductible gifts for a large portion of our budget.

We’re asking you to make a real difference by writing us a check or making an online contribution. Without your support, we simply could not provide the kind of ambulance service you expect and deserve. Generous supporters like you help us put our crews on the road, maintain and repair our ambulances and upgrade our safety equipment.

• Our 911 call volume is already up 20% over this time last year.
• We’re adding a “Power Truck,” an additional crew during our busiest times.
