Thank you so much for coming to my page and considering a contribution! Please know that if you are reading this, you have been added to my prayer intentions.
I’m so excited to be a Biking for Babies missionary this year. I’m preparing for a 600 mile bike trip over 6 days to support pregnant women, new mothers, their children and families, and the pregnancy resource centers that minister to them. I pray that through this ride God will use me as a testament to His overwhelming love for these women and children and that He will work through the generosity of mission partners like you to cover these families in an outpouring of financial support.
No mother should ever feel like she can’t bring her child into the world due to financial hardship or lack of support, resources, or medical care. I joined Biking for Babies because I want to give witness to the challenges women are facing in unplanned pregnancies. I want to show them how much they and their children are worth fighting for and suffering for. And I want to champion these pregnancy resource centers and the sacred work they are doing to ensure these women and children have the opportunity to have life and have it abundantly.
I’ve had the indescribable joy of becoming an aunt to 5 babies (2 in heaven) which has driven me down this path with Biking for Babies. I’ve experienced the value of each tiny life in a whole new way through knowing and loving my nephews and niece. I would do absolutely anything for them and their parents, and if they were in trouble, I would want anyone who could help them to go to great lengths. So when this opportunity was placed before me to “go to great lengths” (literally!) for other mothers, fathers, and children, I had to say yes.
Mother Teresa said real love is giving until it hurts. Over these months, I will be giving until it hurts – my body, all my free time, my plans, my comfort zone – to train for this ride, to raise money for these women and families, and to show them how loved they are. While my experiences will be nothing compared to the experiences of a woman in an unplanned pregnancy, my training has already begun to unite me in small ways to her sacrifices and sufferings – disrupting her plans, suffering physically, wondering "can I actually do this?" and humbling herself to ask others for support and financial help, as I am doing now.
As you consider partnering with me on this mission and making a donation, please know that any amount is appreciated beyond words. Remember what Jesus did with 5 loaves and 2 fish and trust Him to multiply and provide abundantly from whatever you share. Here are the costs of some of the services and materials pregnancy resource centers freely provide to women in need to help guide you in your discernment:
- Free counseling and medical services, including pregnancy testing, STI testing, and ultrasounds. Ultrasounds are often a life-changing, life-saving moment for mothers in crisis. The typical cost of one ultrasound is $500.
- Free items to support families after children are born, including diapers, wipes, formula, food, car seats, etc. The typical cost of one case of diapers is $40. The typical cost of one car seat is $250.
If nothing else, I ask you to pray for all the Biking for Babies missionaries, for our pregnancy resource center partners, and most especially for the mothers, fathers, and children finding themselves in desperate and difficult circumstances. One Hail Mary can change the world!
“Nothing we do to defend the human person, no matter how small, is ever unfruitful or forgotten. Our actions touch other lives and move other hearts in ways we can never fully understand in this world.” - Archbishop Charles Chaput
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and may God bless you!
