Meet Charles A.

Charles has been incarcerated for two years. He has two daughters, ages 16 and 17. “They mean the world to me,” he says. “They’re my everything, my rock.”

When he first saw the announcement about the Father-Daughter Dance, Charles knew it would be something special. “I knew they were going to love it,” he says. “It’s probably one of the best opportunities I could have in this predicament — just to spend time with them.”

He’s most looking forward to being together face-to-face — talking, listening to music, and catching up outside of the phone calls. “I know that’s going to make them feel good too,” Charles says.

What he wants his daughters to take away is simple: “They still got a dad, and I’m still holding up. My love is never ending. Everything is still the same as when I was there. I love them.”
