Annual BABJ Dues and One-Time Donations

The Boston Association of Black Journalists, Inc., was incorporated in 1989 as a chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists

The Boston Association of Black Journalists is composed of print, digital, television, and radio journalists as well as public relations professionals, students, and newsroom managers from the Greater Boston area.

The association aims to promote and enhance the professional growth of its members through discussions, workshops, and media activities; seek out jobs for its members; promote and encourage black journalistic talent; and educate members of the community about their roles as media consumers.

Membership levels:

Full Member ($50) – All board members, regardless of industry. Working journalists, including reporters, editors, photographers, newsroom managers, etc. who produce, gather and disseminate news for newspapers, television and radio stations, magazines, wire services, online, etc., and full-time freelance journalists.

Associate Member ($25) – Part-time freelance journalists, individuals who work in related fields such as public relations, as well as academics who teach journalism, communications or media studies at an accredited college, university, community college or high school.

Student Member ($10) – Members who are currently studying journalism, broadcast, communications or public relations and are enrolled in academic programs in the greater Boston area.
