Baby On Board

For military families, welcoming a new baby often comes with unexpected financial stress. Baby on Board ensures families receive essential baby items and compassionate support, giving them room to breathe during one of life’s most important transitions.

How to Participate

Businesses, organizations, and community groups are invited to host their own Baby on Board collection.

  • Collect baby items at your location from March 9–29

  • Drop off donations at STEP Headquarters
8320 Juniper Creek Ln, San Diego, CA 92126

  • Tuesday, March 31 | Thursday, April 2 | Tuesday, April 7 | Thursday, April 9

    • 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

  • Additional North County and South County drop-off locations will be available to drop off (locations and dates TBD).

Individuals may also participate by donating items or making a monetary gift online.

For questions or to get started, please contact Chelsea Fenner at [email protected]

We are currently collecting new, unused baby essentials, including:

  • NEW Cribs

  • NEW Car Seats

  • Diapers (most needed: sizes 4–6)

  • Baby wipes

  • Baby blankets

  • Onesies

  • Girls' & boys' toddler clothing (most needed: sizes 3T-6T)

  • Girls’ & boys’ infant clothing

  • Baby bottles

  • Washcloths & baby towels

  • Baby shampoo, lotion & diaper rash cream

  • Diaper bags

  • Pacifiers, rattles & baby toys

How Monetary Donations Help

Monetary donations allow STEP to purchase items when donated goods aren’t available or when families have urgent needs. For example:

  • $50 provides a new playpen

  • $100 provides a new crib mattress

  • $150 provides a baby highchair

  • $250 provides a new crib

  • $300 provides a new car seat

  • $500 provides a baby stroller

Every gift—large or small—helps ensure our service members and their families have the support they need.

Items We Cannot Accept

To ensure safety and quality for the families we serve, STEP is unable to accept:

  • Opened, expired, or recalled items/food

  • Used cribs or crib mattresses

  • Used car seats

  • Used breast pumps

  • Food in glass jars

If you’re unsure whether an item can be accepted, monetary donations are always the most flexible and impactful way to support this drive.

Thank you for being part of Baby on Board. Your generosity helps restore hope, ease financial stress, and give military families a strong start during one of life’s most important moments.
