Q99 Breaking and Entering 2025

UWVBR partners with Q99 for their annual Breaking and Entering!  Help UWVBR, and Q99 surprise one local family with an unforgettable Christmas.

The Preston Family (Name changed for privacy)

This season, we have the privilege of supporting a mother and her three children who are rebuilding their lives with strength and quiet bravery.

During a long and difficult divorce, this mother has held her family together through transition, uncertainty, and emotional strain. She currently works three jobs to provide stability, school support, and a sense of normalcy for her children. She gives all she has — every day — to ensure her family keeps moving forward.

Recently, they moved into a new home. This home represents safety. Peace. And a place to breathe again. But like many families who rebuild from scratch, creating warmth takes time, resources, and community.

The Children

The young teen boys are creative and active — one loves music, art, and color; the other loves baseball, skateboards, and jerseys. Their sister is imaginative and joyful, dreaming in unicorns and clouds.

Their requests are simple and meaningful:

  • Storage for their rooms
  • A bean bag chair and a vanity
  • Art supplies and an easel
  • A shadow box to display a jersey
  • Coats and clothing in their current sizes

These are kids who are grateful, not demanding. They are asking for what supports who they already are.

The Mother

Their mother is rebuilding a home and a life at the same time. She is steady, hardworking, and deeply devoted. Because most of her earnings are going toward daily living needs — especially groceries, which currently cost her hundreds per week — grocery gift cards would be one of the most meaningful ways to support this family’s stability.

Business casual clothing would also help her continue to balance work with confidence and professionalism.

Home Touches Needed

  • Light fixtures or lamps for the bedrooms and living room
  • A small dining table to bring everyone back to the same place, together

Your generosity puts the bow on the home and will add smiles to their faces — just in time for the holidays!
