The Miriam’s Heart Family Fun Night at the Somerset Patriots is a cherished annual tradition, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! This special event brings together adoptive and foster families, community groups, and supporters for a night of celebration.

This year’s celebration is extra special with a nostalgic 50s and 60s diner-themed game, paying tribute to New Jersey's iconic diners. From classic rock ‘n’ roll tunes to retro vibes and a spectacular fireworks show, the evening promises fun for all ages. It’s more than just a game—it’s a celebration of family, community, and the enduring support that Miriam’s Heart provides.

Our beloved State of New Jersey is well known for many things. Boardwalks and beaches, Springsteen and Sinatra, tomatoes and corn on the cob, Einstein and Edison, and of course the Parkway and Turnpike, are a handful of examples of what often comes to mind. A conversation about the Garden State cannot be complete however, without mentioning the more than five hundred iconic and quintessentially American casual restaurants found more commonly here than anywhere else in the country: Diners.

The Somerset Patriots are incredibly excited to honor and celebrate the historic and cultural significance of the New Jersey diner! This game is the FIRST diner night of the 2025 season! During these games, fans can expect to be transported with classic music, blue plate specials at the concession stands, diner-themed promotions, fireworks, and so much more.

Families receive free tickets, allowing them to connect with others and find support in the community. With over 600 guests, this event makes kids who have had tough times feel special and supported by their community.

Local sponsors and community members contribute to making this event memorable for families who welcome children in need. Every adopted or foster child has faced trauma. Globally, millions lack families; in the U.S., there are 150,000 legal orphans and nearly 4,000 foster children in New Jersey. Miriam's Heart supports these children and families to thrive through foster care and adoption.

Our Family Fun Night with the Somerset Patriots lets adopted and foster youth shine, enjoy activities, and make joyful memories. Since 2014, it has provided tickets and unforgettable experiences for over 600 guests annually.

What is Miriam's Heart?

All kids who were adopted or in foster care are traumatized. In response, Miriam's Heart was created to provide support to children who were adopted or in foster care and their families. We envision a world where children thrive and families are restored. By purchasing a ticket to this event or donating to send adoptive and foster families to the game, you help children and teens to make unforgettable memories and feel the love and support of their community!

How do I sign-up for FREE tickets?

All adoptive and foster families can sign up for up to 10 FREE tickets! One per household/per address. Please sign-up all tickets under ONE contact (so it does not create duplicated emails back to you). Use a code at check-out (on the first page) to reduce the ticket price on general admission to free!

How do I sign-up for Field of Dreams?

Space is limited to the first 20 children who sign-up. Priority is given to children who have been adopted or in foster care. First come, first served. Sign-up here.

I can't attend, but want to sponsor?

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Children 3+ will require a ticket. Children younger than age 3 can be a lap-child.

How do I get my tickets?

Tickets are mailed weekly until the week prior to the game. All orders placed after April 20th will be at Will Call in the name of the ticket order.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking at the Stadium is provided for a nominal fee.

What's the refund policy?

All sales are final. If you are unable to attend, your tickets may be given (by you) to another guest or returned to Miriam's Heart to donate to an adoptive/foster family. This is a fundraiser - event sponsors and ticket sales allow adoptive and foster families to come to the game for free. Because of this, no refunds will be given.
