What is Battledecks📊?

15 slides, 4 minutes, one theme, zero preparation. It's improv for nerds, plus comics and cat pictures. You can compete, or you can be in the audience. All are welcome!

Why cake🎂?

Our Executive Director is planning this event instead of a birthday party. Hence: cake.

Who is laughing🤣?

If you aren't competing, you're in the audience. If you are competing, hopefully you're funny! And everyone will get to vote for the best performance. (*Votes cost $1 each, and competitors are absolutely allowed to vote for themselves. This IS a fundraiser, after all.)

❔Is this a kid-friendly event?

Answer: You know your child best. Will they be able to sit still and enjoy the presentations?

❔Should I show up on time ⏰?

Answer: We'll start presentations at around 6:15, so please arrive promptly!

❔How do I get there? 🚗?

Answer: Parking near the venue is extremely limited. The S bus lines pass directly by the venue, the 50 bus lines are two blocks away, and the closest Metro is Dupont Circle.

❔I can't come on the 17th. Can I donate?

Answer: You sure can! Click on "Donate and Tickets" and select "No thanks, I'd just like to donate"

❔I bought a "compete" ticket but now I'm second-guessing myself. Can I come and just be in the audience?

Answer: Yes. But you'd be great as a competitor!

❔I bought an "audience" ticket but now I'm second-guessing myself. Can I compete?

Answer: The more competitors the better! Until there are too many. As long as there are fewer than 12 people competing, we're happy to add you to the roster.

❔Will there be other food along with the cake?

Answer: Yes, but not a full dinner. Think veggies and hummus, cheese and crackers, and the like. Plus non-alcoholic beverages.

❔What will the prize be when I win?

Answer: You'll have to wait and see, but there WILL be a prize!
