Bay Area Young Survivors Breast Cancer Memorial Garden

In partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, the Bay Area Young Survivors is starting construction on a Bay Area Young Survivors Breast Cancer Memorial Garden in Golden Gate Park in October 2024. This will be the first public memorial of its kind in the U.S. and the first in Golden Gate Park since the AIDS Memorial Grove. The memorial will be a sanctuary in which to gather, celebrate life, and honor those who have died of metastatic breast cancer, including the names of the Bay Area Young Survivors who have died.

The project is over $1M, and we have been able to start because of your generosity. We continue to raise funds to complete construction of the Memorial and ensure its ongoing stewardship and volunteer workdays. This includes ensuring we add our beloved BAYS members to the Memorial upon their death from metastatic breast cancer.

Thank you for helping us fulfill this vision and honor our friends and loved ones. Please join us and spread the word!
