Beautiful Beginnings Arts Collective will continue the partnerships with Bayview SOL, Community Well and SF Community School (all in the Southeast of San Francisco) to offer free arts programming to the community. With a focus on cultural traditions from the African diaspora and folkloric art forms from Latin America, BBAC’s artists are committed to inspiring young people to use traditional forms as a springboard for innovation and expression.
This year’s BBAC Carnaval theme was born from the fuel of community empowerment and strength. We see what is happening around the globe, on each continent and throughout the oceans, into the atmosphere and out into the universe. The world is different today from what our ancestors dreamed it would be for us. The time is now to dig deep into the core of where our own fire lies, deep beneath the surface of our own beings, into the fire within. We reimagine a world erupting with an abundance of resources, knowledge, wellness, and joy after the ashes have cooled. We know that we are the keepers of this fire within. So join us in our quest to:
Restore the Land
Reconnect with your Traditions
Renew the People
Reignite the World
Now We Rise!
Check out our website for more info about registration, rehearsals, and more. Please consider donating towards youth costumes, art supplies and our Youth Leader program. We appreciate each of our donors and sponsors and invite you to come on this journey of REIGNITING with us, uplifting dances and rhythms from the African diaspora and centering our youth's power to RISE!
