In 1930, Julia Morgan set diamond-paned leaded glass into the walls of the Berkeley City Club's indoor pool. Ninety-five years of moisture and chlorine corroded the steel frames until they cracked the concrete around them. At some point the original glass came out and industrial glazing went in.

We are putting Morgan's design back — twenty windows and two doors, leaded glass made the way it was made in 1930, updated to modern code, by artisans who still know how.

Gifts are designated for the pool window restoration. If gifts exceed what the project requires, the Board will apply the remainder to other preservation work on the Julia Morgan Berkeley City Club building. The Berkeley City Club Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 94-6128869. Your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
