I didn’t grow up with everything going for me. In the 4th grade I got expelled on the last day of school for getting in a fight. The the 7th grade I got put in a drug rehab program for smoking weed. In high school, I dropped out.

My father was battling addiction. My grandmother — who loving took me in — passed away suddenly from a heart attack. I started going to night school just trying to survive and figure out my life.

Then something happened. I got invited by the school guidance counselor Mr. Robinson to a program called BOOST — short for Business Occupation and Service Training — hosted by Morgan Stanley.

That program changed my life.

It gave me mentors, business training, and something I hadn’t felt in a long time — hope. BOOST helped me land my very first corporate job, and it launched my career. I wasn’t just another statistic. I was seen. I was invested in.

That’s why my wife Evelena and I created Dream MKRS — to build that same kind of opportunity for the next generation.
