Representation Matters!

Be Inclusive is a Black woman-led organization that creates inclusive communities by lifting the voices of underrepresented and marginalized communities while recognizing diverse cultures and intersectional experiences. This program supports healthy racial identity development and ongoing anti-racist learning through education, community events, programming, and resources.

We aim to support community members by creating a more welcoming, safe, and inclusive community. Programs include the delivery and increased visibility of multicultural books in schools and libraries and community cultural events.

Sharing Our Successes

The Multicultural Books Initiative (MBI) Program: We've worked closely with Walpole Public Elementary Schools' administration and staff to donate 5-7 books each month highlighting diverse authors and illustrators with characters, voices, and experiences from underrepresented communities. These donations serve 290 teachers, 213 staff, and 1747 students across Walpole's elementary schools and Daniel Feeney Preschool.

The Inclusive Community Events Program: This program seeks to educate, celebrate, and bring awareness to diverse cultures, holidays and life experiences through community-based events.

We believe in the power of bringing people together to spark conversation, create connection, learn from each other, and foster a stronger, more inclusive community. These events are held locally, open to all, and planned authentically.

We have several events that are held annually, including Holi, Juneteenth, Pride, and Diwali! We also host an annual Hair Care Drive where we donate hair care kits to kids in need. We are continuing to expand our events each year and welcome feedback from the community about events they would like to see in Walpole and surrounding towns.
