The Training

Our training begins with an immersive community-building circle experience. Engaging in circle will enable you to take in the essential elements of the process, including its ritual and cadence, and feel the relational power of the unique space.

We continue by presenting the philosophy of RJ, its indigenous roots, and the movement in the U.S. and Illinois towards more Western ways. Then, through engaging discussion and activities, you will cultivate the skills necessary to carry out proactive RJ practices, with a focus on circle practice. You will then learn how to transfer the core relational elements of the process to the facilitation of responsive RJ practices, such as healing and repair of harm circles. On the third day, you will gather in groups to plan mock circles, which you will present on the final day of the training. The training will conclude with planning the ways you can bring RJ into your work and communities as new Circle Keepers - and a celebration!

Training location: 1727 S. Indiana Ave., Chicago, IL 60616 (Suite G02A)

What is included: Plentiful snacks and drinks; electronic Circle Keeper's Toolkit; and Certificate. A celebratory lunch will be provided on the final day (day 4) of the training; lunch will be on your own for days 1-3 of the training.

Seats are limited: Because of their experiential nature and deep focus on relationship building, we limit our trainings to 15 people.

Attendance: Please plan to attend all four days of the training.

Cost:

$650 for individuals who are supported to attend by schools, agencies, or institutions.

$550 for other individuals.
