Pollinators need your help now! If you have any authority over a patch of land, then you can make a positive impact. Even small acts can make a huge difference. At minimum, if each person in Alaska added only a single flower pot to their property, that would be more than 500,000 additional resources for pollinators. Become a Bee Beneficial Member in Alaska and be a part of the movement for preserving Alaska's pollinators.
Become a Bee Beneficial Member in 4 Easy Steps:
1. Have pesticide-free flowers or trees on your land that will provide nectar and pollen sources for pollinators during various seasons. *Plants that bloom at the beginning of spring or late in the fall are the most beneficial for pollinator survival.* Non-invasive and/or native Alaskan plants are preferred.
2. Reduce or eliminate the use of pesticides on your land. Consider switching to natural methods if possible.
3. Provide nesting areas for pollinators by having undisturbed soil, tree stumps/brush piles, bee boxes, or permanent plants/trees.
4. Pay an annual $20 membership fee. (Donations of $40 or greater will receive an outdoor yard sign to place on their property)
With membership, a local guidebook and compilation of resources will be supplied to you in your email after you submit this form. Opportunities for yard signs and decor are available locally, or on our BeeBeneficialShop on Etsy. The bees of today save the foods of tomorrow.
