After 95 years in the old firehouse, Berwyn Fire Company, in conjunction with the Board of Supervisors from Tredyffrin & Easttown Townships, is near completion of the fire/EMS station that will serve the community for decades to come.

Township officials, state representatives, project engineers, architects, construction supervisors, and other dignitaries will be attending. The public is invited to attend and line the parade route along Bridge Avenue, participate in the dedication ceremony, and tour the new firehouse. Souvenirs commemorating the occasion, plus food and drinks will be available after the ceremony.

An anticipated timeline of activities includes:

1:00 p.m. - Parade Start
1:30 p.m. - Welcome/National Anthem/Blessing/Speakers
2:15 p.m. - Building Dedication
2:30 p.m. - Apparatus Housing
3:00 p.m. - Open House Tours

The project is being financed by funds generated by the Berwyn Fire Company, donations from the Tredyffrin-Easttown community, tax dollars from both Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships, State grant funds, and Federal grant funds. The total estimated cost of the construction, including soft costs is $10,500,000 for the 20,000 sq. ft. building.

The station will feature 4 apparatus bays for fire trucks and ambulances, along with increased sleeping quarters for career staff and volunteers. An emergency operations center is also planned in the design to help coordinate emergency responses during significant weather events and other disasters. And most importantly, the station will now have the proper safeguards in place to reduce personnel carcinogen exposure.
