Chizaga-Olemelok, The Black Mamba Village

Chizaga-Olemelok Village in the Chamwino district of Tanzania is home to 3,027 people who rely on open, contaminated water sources. The community suffers from widespread waterborne diseases, including typhoid and dysentery, and your support can transform their lives.

Every day, women in the village walk nearly 12 miles—starting at 5 a.m. in worn flip-flops and ending near dinnertime after almost 27,000 steps—just to collect water. Their only source requires climbing down a 15-foot pit and passing heavy buckets by hand. The water is unsafe and unreliable, and the pit is shared with the deadly Black Mamba, making each trip life-threatening.

Imagine the difference clean, safe water flowing from a tap could make. Women could rest, care for their children, cook, clean, and live without fear. Access to water would also open doors to agriculture, technology, training, and education, giving the community the tools to build sustainable livelihoods and a hopeful future.

Your donation does more than help—it saves lives, restores dignity, and creates long-term transformation. For the families of Chizaga-Olemelok, your gift is hope in action. Please join us in bringing clean water, opportunity, and safety where it is needed most.
