the Collective is something so near and dear to me— it being a reflection of my own journey as a Black woman and mom navigating her way through a cruel and unjust world. a woman having complex and compound trauma seeking comfort and assistance within a system that would not consider me. we deserve better. we deserve to not have to worry; to not have to choose between our healing and survival. and at the Collective, it is our goal to ensure that Black women and femmes have access.
outside of Black women facing racism and sexism in their quest for comfort and aid, i hate how reactive these current systems of welfare presently are. in fact, i hate the term welfare all together. thus, the Collective is creating an ecosystem of Black well-being, one that is more proactive, culturally aware and sensitive to the needs of us.
