Story

The Blacksmith Ride For Life has gone VIRTUAL for 2020!

This is our 5th year of coming together to raise money and awareness of organ donation and we couldn’t let COVID-19 totally spoil things so we have gone virtual!  Grab your safe pod of friends, register and ride your favorite route in honor of our friend Andy Blacksmith!

Andy sadly passed away in June of 2015 while waiting for a heart transplant at the age of 50.  He was passionate about making our communities aware of organ donation and along with our great partner, Seacoast Harley-Davidson, we are continuing that mission for Andy with the Blacksmith Ride for Life presented by Northeast Credit Union.

There will be no on-site event at Seacoast Harley this year but we are still raising money for New England Donor Services and Donate Life New England by encouraging riders to donate and pledge to ride.

Please join us this year in helping to keep Andy’s memory alive and his organ donation awareness mission in full gear!

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

Sign up above by clicking "Donate & Tickets." You can register to ride any time between September 14th and October 18th for a $15 donation to Donate Life New England.

If you cannot ride this year but still wish to support more than 5,000 New Englanders in their search for a life-saving transplant through Donate Life New England, click "Donate & Tickets' and choose "No thanks, I'd just like to donate." You will be able to choose what amount you wish to donate.

WHERE SHOULD I RIDE?

There will be no set route to follow this year but riders are encouraged to ride their favorite routes or try something different!

Be sure to submit a photo of you and your pod on your bikes HERE or use the hashtag #BlacksmithRide2020 on social media! Don't forget to pick up a custom 2020 Blacksmith Ride t-shirt while you're at it.

WILL THERE BE T-SHIRTS FOR SALE?

Yes there will be special edition 2020 Blacksmith Ride t-shirts available for purchase under "Donate & Tickets".  You will be asked to enter your t-shirt size on the fourth step of the sign up form. Sizes small to XXL available. Shirts will be available for PICKUP ONLY at Seacoast Harley Davidson during a two week period following the ride starting the first week in November. Click here to see a preview of the shirt!

SAFETY WAIVER

By pledging to participate in the virtual ride, you are accepting the conditions of our rider safety waiver. You can read the waiver from iHeartMedia HERE and Seacoast Harley HERE

WILL THERE BE A MEAL WITH THE RIDE?

There will be no on-site meal as this is a virtual event.  You will receive a bounce back discount coupon from Mojo's BBQ  as well as other coupons as a thank you for donating and/or riding!

HOW DO I BECOME AN ORGAN DONOR?

Visit New England Donor Services to learn more about how you can support more than 5,000 New Englanders searching for life-saving transplants. You can sign up to become an organ donor HERE

New England Donor Services  coordinates organ and tissue donation in the six New England states and Bermuda. Through its two affiliated organ procurement organizations, Life Choice Donor Services ( LCDS ) and New England Organ Bank (NEOB) and its centralized tissue donation services operation, NEDS serves thousands of donor families each year who have generously made the decision to donate and honors the wishes of those who registered as donors and gave the gift of life. Donate Life New England is a special public outreach project to encourage people to join the Donor Registry—one of the many programs funded by generous contributions from the community.
