Technical trainings, such as hands-on vehicle extrication, are often logistically and financially out of reach for departments making them otherwise inaccessible to first responders. Nationally, 37.0% of all fire department calls are classified as Technical / Specialized rescue with 78.8% of all fire department rescue calls classified as Vehicle Extrication.
