Books over Break

Books Over Break is a summer literacy program which provides books for PreK through middle school students to take home and keep forever, right before summer break. Research has shown that book ownership has a strong influence on achievement and that reading just ten books a summer can help students maintain literacy skills.  The goal of the program is to prevent summer set-back and get books into the hands of students that don't typically have books in their homes. Please donate gently used books at any CHCCS school front lobby. We also need financial donations to help purchase hard to get books including Spanish, graphic novels and middle school age series.
